A new baby is born to Leona Lewis and her husband Dennis Jauch

Her producer husband Dennis Jauch and the singer welcomed their first child together on July 22. According to the couple's Instagram post on Aug. 2, Carmel Allegra was born on Aug. 22. In addition to the announcement, Lewis and Jauch shared a photo of Lewis cradling their newborn.

Lewis, 37, announced her pregnancy in March on Instagram, writing, "Can't wait to meet you in the Summer." Jauch called the baby the "biggest gift I could've asked for" and added, "You're one hot a** Mama @leonalewis."

No Ceilings Entertainment cofounder and Grammy-nominated artist kept fans updated on their journey to parenthood during the next few months. There were both ups and downs to Lewis' pregnancy, including her morning sickness (or what she called "all the time sickness").

The changes she is facing are emotional, physical, personal, and professional, she wrote in a June 23 post. 'I'm thinking of all the moms and dads who go through so much to bring precious little ones into the world.'" Approximately a month before Lewis' arrival, Jauch wrote on Instagram, "So proud of this stunner for powering through this challenging but most beautiful time." He added, "Can't wait to meet our little one."
