Rowan Shields leaves for her sophomore year of college in an emotional video shared by Brooke Shields

Rowan Shields, Brooke Shields' daughter, had just begun her sophomore year of college, and the mother of two found that the experience was no different from her first year. An emotional video posted to Instagram by Shields expressed her feelings about sending her daughter off to college for the second time.

I just waved my daughter goodbye again, as I thought the second time would be easier. She has already been away from me for most of the summer, but she is traveling with her father," Shields wrote.  "However, she is taking my vehicle, which was my graduation present, and will drive it," the actress explained. 

As Shields was the first to drop her daughter off at campus, she rode with her, but since she was unwilling to go through it again, she chose to stay at home and wave goodbye from home this year.

Driving away from campus was too painful for me. I cannot imagine having to do it again."  Furthermore, she expressed her sympathies to all the other parents whose children were leaving for college.

We're all in this together, if there are any other people going through this," she said.  As she captioned the video, "Turns out second time is not the charm when it comes to your child attending college." "Here she comes, sophomore year. I'll be crying if you need me..." Shields' daughter appears in the car at the end of the video with the caption, "ugh, oh it's so hard. I miss her already.

Shields previously spoke about dropping off her daughter during her freshman year on "Live With Kelly and Ryan," saying it was "the worst thing I have ever done in my life." Kelly Ripa advised her that it would get easier with time. Since 2001, Shields has been married to Chris Henchy, with whom she shares two daughters, Grier and Rowan.
