The full X Factor UK audition of Harry Styles includes a previously unseen performance of 'Hey, Soul Sister'

A newly released extended version of Styles' audition was released by The X Factor UK over the weekend. As he discusses his hometown of Holmes Chapel as a place that's rather boring where nothing interesting ever happens, Styles displays some of his signature deadpan humor and cheekiness. The scenery is quite picturesque, he quips.

As Styles meets Simon Cowell and the judging panel, he tells them about his job as a baker at Coburn's Mandeville Bakery, and tells Cowell "In the shop, I serve the cakes that we sell." Cowell asks Styles what sells most at the store, and what does not sell so well.

The singing audition begins after Styles has gone through a few more ice breakers. "My mother always tells me that I am a good signer, and so have my friends as well," he tells the judges. It is well known that mums are often poor judges - to which Styles somewhat agrees, saying that is why he came to audition and find out from the people who have experience in this field.

In response to his question, he states, "I believe I can do it, but it would be a lot better if you helped me." As a result of the previously unseen clip of Styles singing Train's "Hey, Soul Sister", Cowell appears to win over Styles. Honestly, the music drowns him out and he sounds pitchy.

The quality isn't very good. Styles, however, decides acapella is the best way to gain a second chance with Cowell. His performance of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely?" - the song audiences viewed during his audition - is much more impressive. Styles' career continues to move in one direction - to more success; he was brought back to the show after being cut by Cowell when One Direction was formed, and later, in a solo career, which has made him an icon.
