Tom Cruise and Kim Kardashian are among the celebrities monitored by the teen who tracks Elon Musk's jet
The 19-year-old Jack Sweeney, who runs a Twitter account called @CelebJets, said he was tracking four Tom Cruise private jets. In addition to tracking Jay-Z's travel patterns, Taylor Swift's, Kim Kardashian's, and Taylor Swift's, the account has almost 28,000 followers. Sweeney told Insider that the account he created in October has been gradually adding new celebrities, primarily based on requests from fans, since then. In response to a request for comment from Cruise, a spokesperson did not respond. It has been a busy few weeks for Tom Cruise as he has been on the front page for his smash hit "Top Gun: Maverick." However, his character isn't the only one who has a passion for jets.
Among the private planes, the actor has purchased in the past are a four million dollar WWII-era P-51 Mustang single-seat fighter plane that he bought for $4 million and a 20 million dollar Gulfstream plane for $20 million. It has been confirmed by Sweeney that Cruise's P-51, Gulfstream, HondaJet, and a Challenger 300 have all been identified. As part of Sweeney's research, he uses bots to scrape publicly available data on air traffic. In his interview with Insider, he revealed that he searches for patterns between the travel history of the aircraft and the celebrity's travels. Sweeney told the Journal that a lot of celebrities already know about them or there are articles or pictures of them exiting the airplane somewhere, but it seems like nobody else is following them but me.
According to Forbes, Cruise has held a pilot's license since 1994 and flies his private jets frequently, according to his license. His movies are known for the fact that he performs all the stunts himself. As a passenger, Cruise also appears to enjoy the experience of flying as well. The business owner's Gulfstream 4 comes equipped with a jacuzzi and a screening room, Forbes has reported. He reportedly owns a private hangar in which he keeps the aircraft he owns as a hobby. He is one of many people that Sweeney has begun tracking since he began his investigation. He announced on Twitter last month that he had discovered where Mark Zuckerberg's private jet was located, announcing that he had found its location on a map.
After tracking the Facebook founder's travel patterns for about a month after he began tracking him, Sweeney became aware that Zuckerberg had switched planes about a month after he first began tracking him. It is estimated that Meta spent more than $26 million in 2021 on the personal security of its CEO. Musk expressed concern earlier this year about Sweeney creating an account as part of his travel tracking and reporting system to keep track of his travel habits. In January, Tesla CEO Elon Musk offered Sweeney $5,000 to take down their Twitter account of the teen. Sweeney refused the offer, and the account remains active. Earlier today, Musk said in a private message to Sweeney that he didn't want to be shot by someone who was a nutcase, according to Protocol.
