Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick Receives Nothing But Praise From Quentin Tarantino
Tom Cruise's sequel to his 1986 film Top Gun has turned out to be a dark horse at the box office in 2022 after more than 30 years. Cruise's Lt. Pete Maverick returned to cinemas all over the world and was joined in his latest air mission by fans all over the world. The veteran director Quentin Tarantino is also among those who enjoy Tom Cruise's latest sequel.
My normal style is to not discuss new movies too much because I'm forced to only praise them or slam them. My goal is not to do that. Top Gun: Maverick is one of my favorite movies. This was a fantastic movie. In the theaters, I watched it. The film provided the kind of cinematic spectacle I had almost thought I would never see again, along with Spielberg's West Side Story. I enjoyed it very much.
Also, Tony Scott's cinema and Tony's love for each other make this a very lovely, lovely film, and I can't wait to see him again. A great job was done. Tony's respect and love were evident in every frame. Almost every decision was based on it. The gesture was conscious but in a respectable way. Tom made every decision in the film with this in mind. There aren't many more Tony Scott movies to come, and it was great."
As a result, Top Gun: Maverick dethroned blockbusters such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from Marvel Studios and The Batman from Warner Bros. Top Gun: Maverick now holds the title of 2022's highest-grossing film with a domestic box office receipt of $1.3 billion globally. The film is also the first in the year's box office history to surpass $1 billion.
